Slovak Space Office Strengthens International Cooperation During March Events in Budapest
At the end of March, representatives of the Slovak Space Office – Industrial Branch (SSO), operating within the SARIO agency, participated in two major events in Budapest aimed at supporting space activities. The events were held in connection with the Slovak-Hungarian bilateral events Hungarian & Slovak Joint Space Event 2025 in Miškovec and Košice.
On March 25, 2026, SVK representatives visited Óbuda University, where they actively participated in the Óbuda University Space Day program. The Director of SVK SARIO, Daniel Šagáth, presented the activities of the Slovak Space Office to the students and emphasized the intention to continue deepening cooperation between the Slovak and Hungarian space sectors. The office mainly supports cooperation at the level of educational institutions and universities, thereby contributing to the development of the competencies of future experts in the space industry. SARIO’s presentation was part of the International Engagement and Cooperation in Space Research block, where representatives of Voyager Technologies Europe and the HUN-REN organization also presented their work.
A day later, SVK representatives participated in the V4 Space and Defence Festival. SVK Director SARIO, together with representatives of the V4 countries, participated in the panel discussion Growing Space Countries: the Role of Central Europe in the New Space Economy. They emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation between Central European countries and supporting the competitiveness of the Slovak space industry, which actively contributes to regional growth and international visibility of Slovakia in the space technology sector. Other speakers included ambassadors of European countries, representatives of the European Space Agency and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme, and representatives of major industrial companies.
These activities implemented by the Slovak Space Office SARIO not only support the presentation of Slovakia’s potential on the international stage, but also actively build cooperation, support the training of young talents, and strengthen the position of the Slovak space industry in Central Europe.
