Rastislav Podhorec, Director General of Eximbanka SR, is participating these days in the official working visit of the Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic to North Macedonia, which is taking place at the invitation of the Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska – Kochoska. During the first day of the talks, the delegation mainly discussed current issues in the field of combating tax evasion and the Croatian initiative to create a regional capital markets union, in which Slovakia and Northern Macedonia are actively involved.

For Eximbanka, this visit represents a significant step towards a deeper understanding of the country’s regulatory and business environment, as well as its export and investment potential. The acquisition of new contacts, more detailed information and territorial knowledge creates a solid basis for the planned negotiations with the Development Bank of North Macedonia, which have the ambition to strengthen mutual cooperation.

International partnerships play a key role in today’s dynamic business environment. Cooperation with partner institutions, such as the Development Bank of Northern Macedonia, can also bring new opportunities for Slovak businesses – from access to promising markets to joint projects supporting the stability and competitiveness of the region.

Eximbanka’s products – territorial risk insurance, soft loans or guarantees – can be an important tool for Slovak companies when considering business activities in Northern Macedonia. Knowing the local conditions and building trusted partnerships is the key to successfully exploiting these opportunities.

The aim of the visit is therefore not only to strengthen official relations, but also to create practical bridges for future economic cooperation that can benefit businesses on both sides.
