From March 23–25, 2026, SARIO carried out a working visit to Atlanta, Georgia, focused on strengthening Slovakia’s presence in the Southeast United States, engaging with key investment stakeholders, and organizing a targeted business event.

The visit combined participation in a leading investment platform with on-the-ground engagement across the Georgia business ecosystem, creating a foundation for deeper Slovakia–U.S. cooperation in the region.

Engaging with Global Investment Decision-Makers

A central part of the program was participation in the Site Selectors Guild Spring Conference, one of the most important global platforms for site selection consultants, investment advisors, and economic development organizations.

Over three days, a series of meetings and networking engagements took place with key decision-makers involved in international investment projects. These interactions positioned Slovakia within ongoing investment discussions and created opportunities for follow-up with partners actively shaping location decisions for global companies.

Slovakia & Georgia Business Roundtable

Alongside the conference, SARIO organized the Slovakia & Georgia Business Roundtable, marking the first dedicated Slovakia-focused investment event in the state of Georgia. The event brought together representatives of the local business and economic development community and provided a platform to present Slovakia as a business and investment destination.

Vladimír Lackovič presented Slovakia’s investment opportunities, highlighting the country’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, AI, and digital infrastructure, and positioning Slovakia as a gateway to the European market.

The discussion focused on practical opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration between Slovakia and the State of Georgia, building on previous engagements and business missions between the two markets.

The program in Atlanta also included a series of targeted bilateral meetings aimed at building long-term partnerships in the region.

These included engagement with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, where Slovakia was presented to local business leaders, as well as a meeting with Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts, following up on a previous business delegation from Georgia to Slovakia. Discussions were also held with the Czech Business Incubator to explore cooperation in supporting Slovak companies entering the U.S. market, alongside coordination with the Honorary Consulate of Slovakia in Atlanta.

Creating Momentum for Future Cooperation

The Atlanta visit represents an important step in building a more systematic presence in the Southeast United States. By combining engagement with global investment intermediaries and targeted regional outreach, SARIO was able to strengthen relationships that can translate into concrete business opportunities.

The trip created a strong foundation for continued engagement, including plans to organize a Slovak business delegation to Atlanta and to support a follow-up mission from Georgia to Slovakia, further developing bilateral trade and investment ties.
