On the occasion of the visit of the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, to Slovakia, the SARIO agency, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, organized the Slovakia-Moldova Business Forum on March 26, 2026. Alongside the Moldovan President, the forum was opened with speeches by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the SR, Denisa Saková, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova, Eugen Osmochescu.

The forum, the primary goal of which was to support mutual economic relations, created space for direct business negotiations between 33 Slovak and 21 Moldovan business entities. Participating entities represented sectors such as energy, information and communication technologies, food processing, healthcare, construction, and logistics, among others, with nearly 100 individual B2B meetings taking place during the event.

The SARIO agency prepared the business forum in cooperation with Moldovan partners, specifically the Invest Moldova Agency and the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. On the occasion of the forum, SARIO concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the Invest Moldova Agency, thereby defining a framework for intensifying future cooperation with its institutional partner regarding Moldova.

The business forum itself provided space within its program for the presentation of trade and investment opportunities and the overall potential of both Slovakia and Moldova. At the same time, opportunities were presented for Slovak companies to become involved in development projects implemented by Slovakia in Moldova within the context of foreign development assistance.

In addition to the forum, the Moldovan business delegation’s interest was to conduct specific visits to local industrial parks and companies. Based on the request of the Moldovan partner organizations, the SARIO agency therefore arranged visits to selected industrial parks in Malacky, Senec, and Bratislava on the day before the forum. Prior to the forum, receptions were arranged for the Moldovan business delegation at COOP JEDNOTA and Západoslovenská energetika a.s. In individual cases, the SARIO agency facilitated direct contact particularly for Moldovan companies operating in the energy sector for additional B2B meetings with Slovak companies beyond the scope of the business forum.

On the following day, the CEO of the SARIO agency, Egon Zorád, received the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova, Eugen Osmochescu, and the Deputy Director of the Invest Moldova Agency, Mihai Burunciuc, to share best practices in supporting incoming investors and the export activities of Slovak enterprises.

The business forum brought an opportunity for the development of existing private sector partnerships across multiple sectors and led primarily to the establishment of new partnerships in promising sectors for the diversification of both countries’ economies.
